About GotabMN

Gotab Minnesota (GotabMN) is an independent Chapter of Gotabgaa International and is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Minnesota; founded by its members to unite, educate and empower its members and the community at large. The Kenya community of Minnesota and the immediate States (South Dakota and Wisconsin) are organized under the organization.
Our Mission
GotabMN is committed to be an active social organization that supports linking together of Kalenjin Community in Minnesota, promoting continuity of our culture while supporting integration into the vast American community and culture. We are committed to promote good citizenship, advancement in education, health, economic empowerment, upholding family values, and spiritual support.
Our Vision
GotabMN will be strong organization that will serve the immigrant Kalenjin Community for many generations.

As a community, we always come together to support each other during challenging times particularly during times of bereavement. Tilyet BF exists to ensure that whether one has few or many friends, or is new in town or has been a long-term resident of Minnesota, we, as a community will be there for each other. GotabMN recognizes active Kenyan and African community organizations in Minnesota and pursues collaborations and encourages working together on several programs with these communities

American Community Organizations
GotabMN recognizes active Local Community organizations in Minnesota and pursues collaborations in areas and programs that prioritize building, empowering and uplifting the local community

United States of America Government(s)
GotabMN recognizes and is subject to Federal, State, and Local governments under which GotabMN is under its jurisdiction. GotabMN shall positively collaborate with the governments in upholding values, laws, and activities that promote good citizenship.

Kenyan Government(s)
We recognize that GotabMN members have ancestral links and direct linkages with The Government of Kenya. GotabMN recognizes the Government of Kenya and shall uphold values that supports the laws of Kenya and promote good citizenship while in diaspora and in Kenya.

Institutions and other Organizations:
GotabMN recognize legally established institutions and organizations and shall work with the organizations to promote positive links with the organizations. GotabMN members have deep links with Institutions of learnings, financial institutions, Governmental and non-governmental institutions, religious organizations, individual and organized business companies, and cultural organizations.
